Position Summary
The Technical Service Engineer BESS is responsible for the on-site installation support, commissioning, grid connection, and after-sales technical service of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects across Eastern Europe. The role acts as a supporting on-site technical representative, working under the guidance the Team Lead Service Delivery BESS, ensuring safe, timely, and high-quality project delivery from installation through commissioning, acceptance, and post-installation support.

Major Responsibilities
Site Delivery & Commissioning
  • Provide on-site technical support during installation, commissioning, testing, and handover of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects.  
  • Support senior engineers in supervising installation activities and verifying compliance with technical specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
  • Participate in system commissioning, functional testing, and grid connection activities under appropriate technical guidance.
  • Resolve on-site technical issues related to electrical installation and system integration, escalating complex issues where required.
  • Support project acceptance, punch-list resolution, and final technical handover to customers. 
After-Sales Technical Support
  • Respond promptly to customer technical enquiries via remote or on-site support and ensure timely issue resolution.  
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, communication, and system performance issues, with support from senior technical specialists where required.
  • Manage after-sales service activities through the service management system, ensuring accurate documentation and timely closure of work orders.  
  • Coordinate with engineering, product, and technical support teams to resolve technical issues efficiently.  
  • Coordinate with Sales teams to ensure effective customer communication and high customer satisfaction.
Customer Support & Training
  • Support the delivery of customer training on system operation, routine maintenance, and safety procedures.
  • Handle customer complaints professionally and escalate complex technical issues through the appropriate support channels.
Continuous Improvement
  • Collect and communicate customer feedback, technical issues, and field observations to support product improvements.  
  • Maintain technical knowledge of BESS products, system architecture, and commissioning procedures through ongoing training and certification programs.
  • Support spare parts inventory management and ensure service tools are properly maintained.
Performance Indicators  
  • Response time to customer service requests 
  • Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) 
  • First-time fix / first-visit resolution rate 
  • On-time commissioning and project handover 
  • Technical quality of commissioning and documentation 
  • Customer satisfaction with field service support 
  • Compliance with EHS and site safety requirements 
  • Accuracy and timeliness of service documentation

Your profile

Required Qualifications  
  • Bachelor's degree or technical qualification in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Renewable Energy, Electronics, Mechatronics, or related technical discipline
  • Typically, 2-4 years of experience in field service, commissioning, site engineering, maintenance, or technical support within power systems, inverters, power electronics, electrical infrastructure, MV/HV installations, renewable energy, or a related technical industry
  • Good understanding of electrical systems, inverters, power electronics, MV/HV equipment, power conversion equipment, or Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). Previous BESS experience is advantageous but not required
  • Experience supporting electrical installation, maintenance, commissioning, or troubleshooting activities
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and single-line schematics
  • Basic knowledge of electrical safety standards and grid-connected electrical systems is preferred
  • Relevant local language: C1 (professional working proficiency); English: C1 (professional working proficiency)
  • Valid driver's license
