Position Summary 
The Technical Service Engineer BESS is responsible for the on-site installation support, commissioning, grid connection, and after-sales technical service of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects across South Europe. 
The role acts as the primary on-site technical representative, ensuring safe, timely, and high-quality project delivery from installation through commissioning, acceptance, and post-installation support. The Technical Service Engineer collaborates closely with customers, EPCs, subcontractors, and internal technical teams to resolve technical issues, ensure compliance with local grid and safety requirements, and deliver an excellent customer experience throughout the project lifecycle.

Major Responsibilities 
Site Delivery & Commissioning
  • Provide on-site technical support during installation, commissioning, testing, and handover of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects.  
  • Supervise installation activities and verify compliance with technical specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.  
  • Perform system commissioning, functional testing, and grid connection activities to ensure successful project energization.  
  • Resolve on-site technical issues related to electrical installation, system integration, and grid compliance.  
  • Support project acceptance, punch-list resolution, and final technical handover to customers. 
After-Sales Technical Support
  • Respond promptly to customer technical enquiries via remote or on-site support and ensure timely issue resolution.  
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, communication, and system performance issues, escalating complex cases where appropriate.  
  • Manage after-sales service activities through the service management system, ensuring accurate documentation and timely closure of work orders.  
  • Coordinate with engineering, product, and technical support teams to resolve technical issues efficiently.  
  • Coordinate with Sales teams to ensure effective customer communication and high customer satisfaction.
Customer Support & Training 
  • Deliver customer training on system operation, routine maintenance, and safety procedures.  
  • Build positive customer relationships through professional technical support and effective communication.  
  • Handle customer complaints professionally and coordinate appropriate corrective actions to maintain customer satisfaction.  
Continuous Improvement 
  • Collect and communicate customer feedback, technical issues, and field observations to support product improvements.  
  • Maintain technical knowledge of BESS products, system architecture, and commissioning procedures.  
  • Support spare parts inventory management and ensure service tools are properly maintained.
Performance Indicators 
  • Response time to customer service requests 
  • Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) 
  • First-time fix / first-visit resolution rate 
  • On-time commissioning and project handover 
  • Technical quality of commissioning and documentation 
  • Customer satisfaction with field service support 
  • Compliance with EHS and site safety requirements 
  • Accuracy and timeliness of service documentation

Your profile

Required Qualifications 
  • Bachelor's degree or technical qualification in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Renewable Energy, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline. 
  • Minimum 2-6 years of experience in field service, commissioning, site engineering, or technical support within BESS, PV, power systems, electrical infrastructure, or a related industry. 
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, inverters, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), or power conversion equipment.  
  • Experience with electrical installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.  
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and single-line schematics.
  • Knowledge of grid connection requirements and electrical safety standards is preferred.  
  • Experience working on utility-scale or commercial renewable energy projects is an advantage.  
  • Relevant local language: C1 (professional working proficiency). English: B2 (full professional capability).
  • Valid driver's license.
